Job Summary
We are seeking a Telecommunications Project Manager to contribute to key projects within our organization.
The Telecommunications Project Manager will plan, schedule, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the activities of fiber, wireless and networking projects under the direction of a senior manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee telecommunication construction projects from conception to completion while monitoring compliance with safety and government regulations.
- Coordinate subcontractors and field technicians to meet contractual conditions of performance.
- Prepare external and internal reports relating to job status, daily progress, estimates, and deliverables.
- Negotiate agreement terms, manage construction contract drafts, bid on projects, and obtain permits to analyze and mitigate risks.
- Communicate with the responsible parties to ensure quality meets company standards and proper industry processes are utilized, while ensuring the client’s needs are efficiently met.
- Review projects regularly to ensure quality standards exist and estimates remain within budget.
- Work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment to plan and coordinate all aspects of the building process from hiring contractors to working with engineers, clients, and vendors.
- Prepare close-out packages according to specifications.
- Assess issues brought forward during construction to identify solutions and provide guidance.
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in managing mid- to large-scale field projects.
- Degree in management or PMP designation are a strong asset.
- High level of financial responsibilities.
- Understanding and experience with fiber networking design, pedestals/vaults, and ground installations.
- Knowledge of FTTX technologies, GPON, and Hybrid Coax cable.
- Understanding of HDD drilling to place telecommunications services, locating, and various services associated with fiber optic placement.
- Knowledge of telecommunication towers, cabling, antennas and power systems
- Previous experience in telecommunications is preferred.
