Position Title: Surveyor
Location: Edmonton, AB
Job Type: Full time. This is a temporary placement (6 – 8 weeks)

We are currently seeking a Survey Technologist to work on an exciting fiber optic infrastructure Installation project in the mountains of western Canada. As the successful candidate you will be working alongside the installation crew tracking the location of current infrastructure in relation to equipment. Using survey instruments and recording location specific data you will be the main source for geographic location data and documentation related to the project.
The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working in the field on a 16 day in and 5 days off rotation. As well, be detail oriented, able to work alone, able to pass an A&D test and be respectful of site rules and policies. This is a safety sensitive position.
Qualifications:
- Technical knowledge of how to use tools such as a global positioning system (GPS) or geographic information system (GIS).
- Technical knowledge of how to develop survey plans, methods, and procedures for conducting a survey.
- Knowledge of how to record all measurements done during the survey.
Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Experience:
- Surveying: 1 year (preferred)
- Industrial construction: 1 year (preferred)
